Sugar Cravings and the Ice Cream Breakfast Bowl

Ice Cream that won’t make you fat? Yes. I’ve been eating this stuff several times a week for 2 years and I have only lost weight. I’ve eaten it in the morning for breakfast, I’ve eaten it for dessert after dinner, I’ve eaten it “Just because I wanted something sweet and chocolaty”… Still, it has cost me zero pounds of weight gain. It tastes absolutely delicious, smooth, creamy (almost buttery) flavor, and the kick? This dish is GREAT FOR PMS. Most women crave chocolate during PMS because it is high in magnesium – NEWS FLASH – chocolate isn’t unhealthy in its pure form – its the additives that make it bad for you. DIY your PMS food!

Now, You will most likely need a high-speed blender for this recipe but – Nutri-bullets will probably work (my sister makes it in her Nutri-Bullet, but she adds a little almond of coconut milk to wet the blades). There are ONLY 3 ingredients and here they are: 2-3 Frozen Bananas, 3-4 tablespoons of cacao powder, and 3-5 Medjool Dates. Do it all to taste. Some like it sweeter, more chocolaty, thicker, etc.

Throw all of these Ingredients into your blender and (if using a vitamix) grab your tamper because you will need to press the frozen bananas into the blades until its smooth and the “four corner mounds” form.

Once you see these 4 mounds form in your blender – its done. Scoop it into a bowl and eat it. If you want a firmer ice cream place it in the freezer for an hour or so, I prefer it more like a frozen yogurt consistency (back when I ate dairy products I was addicted to “Fro-Yo” and this definitely satisfies the craving for that. And now… its time for toppings!

You can of course use any toppings you want, I used Chia seeds (for a little crispy crunch) Raw Pepitas (Shelled Pumpkin Seeds) for protein and to give it that nutty flavor and Goji Berries!

Of course you can use whatever you like to on top, get creative!

Some great ideas are Raspberries, Strawberries, Tart Cherries, Almonds, Walnuts, Cacao Nibs, Coconut Flakes, Raisins, Cranberries, Hemp Seeds and Cashews. This is a GREAT breakfast dish on top of Oats or Buckwheat groats, or Raw Protein Powder. YES I SAID IT – A breakfast dish!

This dish is loaded with Potassium and Magnesium, with the seeds it has protein and is great for the digestive system.
